Support with food

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE 2022 SEASON

COVID 19 required us to shift the way in which we deliver the Christmas Food program. The goal of the program remained, providing people living on a low income in Waterloo Region with support to celebrate during the Christmas season.

For Christmas 2022, we will again, not be packing a food hamper and will distribute gift cards instead. This is the reason for our name change – we are no longer the Christmas Hamper Program, but instead the Christmas Food Program!

Register online for your Christmas Food at www.christmassupport.ca. Please note that there are two forms this year, one for FOOD and one for TOYS that you need to fill out separately.

New for the 2022 season, we will be providing a choice between two gift cards, as well as a choice of frozen meat product. When you apply, you will choose what you would like to receive, and how you would like to receive it.

The options we have available are:

  1. Delivery: Deliveries of the gift card and frozen meat product are available on Saturday, Dec 10 and Sunday, Dec 11 between 9:00am and 2:00pm. A confirmation email will be sent once registration has been completed and received.
  2. Centralized pickup locations: Pickup locations will allow participants to pick up their turkey and gift card in a convenient location. These pickups are available by appointment and are available from December 13th -16th. When you register you will choose the location, date and time that works best for you.

When you go to pick up your food, please bring the following:

  • Your confirmation email or text (this was sent to you by email, text or mail when you registered)
  • A form of valid ID
